Moral: True beauty lies within
Long ago, there was a beautiful white elephant named Indra who lived in the forest. Indra was known for his grace, strength, and kindness. Every night, he would look up at the moon, which he adored for its bright beauty.
One day, the moon heard the elephant’s praise and appeared to him in person. The moon told Indra that it was just a reflection of the sun and had no real power of its own. It had been empty for years, trying to find a way to make itself more beautiful and powerful. Indra, in his wisdom, told the moon that true beauty and strength are not seen in appearance, but in the heart.
The moon, deeply touched by Indra’s words, realized that true beauty lies within. It no longer worried about its appearance, and instead, focused on its role as a guiding light for all.
Grandmother would smile and say, “You see, child, this story reminds us that the most important thing is not how we look on the outside, but the goodness inside us. That’s where true beauty comes from.”
